If you look at their paws, they are all have "webbed toes" so that they can swim very well. Now, if your standard poodle has never been introduced to water, he might be a little freaked out at first - but they can swim very well!

Funny story: we had a standard poodle named Moxie when we lived in Arizona. We had just moved to a new house, and someone left the gate unlocked and she got out. A neighbor saw her running and let her into her back yard. The neighbor had a swimming pool which Moxie had never experienced before. While running around in the yard, she tried (unsuccessfully) to walk on water! She didn't realize she would fall into the pool when she tried to walk across it! LOL! The neighbor actually had to jump into the pool and help her out because she had never been swimming before!

Size & Health


Standard Poodles typically weigh between 40-70 lbs and stand 18-21 inches tall.
